Creating Dial-up connection for Sony PlayStation 2 (EarthLink).

Read this article and understand how to configure the dial-up connection for Sonly PlayStation 2.

  1. Insert the Network Adaptor Start-Up Disc into the PlayStation 2.
  2. Using the control pad, select ISP SETUP.
  3. Press the X button on the control pad.



  4. Take a moment to read the End User License Agreement.
  5. Select Agree if you agree to the terms.
  6. Press the X button on the control pad.



  7. Select New Network Setting.
  8. Press the X button on the control pad.



  9. Select I have an ISP.
  10. Press the X button on the control pad.



  11. Select Dial-Up.
  12. Press the X button on the control pad.



  13. Select EarthLink.
  14. Press the X button on the control pad.



  15. Place a check in any boxes that apply to your phone service.
  16. Select Continue.
  17. Press the X button on the control pad.



  18. In the User Name field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., johndoe@earthlink.net).
  19. In the Password field, type your password.

    Please check with your local telephone company to make sure that the access number that you are dialing is a local, toll-free call. We assume no responsibility for local toll or long distance charges incurred for the use of our service.

  20. In the Verify Password field, type your password again for verification.
  21. Select Continue.
  22. Press the X button on the control pad.



  23. Enter the phone number you will be dialing from.
  24. Select Continue.
  25. Press the X button on the control pad.



  26. The PS2 will now dial up and retrieve a list of local access numbers. A list will appear based on the phone number you entered. Select 2 numbers in your area.

  27. The 2 numbers that you chose will appear for verification. The phone numbers shown will reflect the exact way it will dialed. If you need to make changes to the way the PS2 dials out (for example, adding the area code for 10-digit dialing), select Yes and continue with the instructions to add the extra dialing information. Otherwise, select No.
  28. Press the X button on the control pad.



  29. The PS2 will now dial out to one of the numbers you selected to test your settings. Once the the PS2 is finished testing the connection, select Continue.
  30. Press the X button on the control pad.



  31. In the Network Setting Name field, type a name to refer to this connection.
  32. Select Save.
  33. Press the X button on the control pad.
