How to recover Screenlock Passcode without restoring your iPod

1.Plug the iPod in computer.

2.Go to "My Computer" And click the apporiate drive your iPod.

3.Change the folder option to "View all hidden files and folders"

4.Navigate to ipod_control

5.Then go to Device

6.Then there is a file there named"_Unlocked"

7.Open that up with a text editor (Notepad) and viola the passcode is right there.

    Note: This will only work up until a certain point in the iPod line (I'm not quite sure where); after this point, the password is encrypted. By renaming the folder from "_unlocked" to "_locked", you should be able to disable the passcode; to reenable, simply rename the folder back to "_unlocked".

      does this work with windows vista? i went in the ipod folder (all i see is internal storage) i went Tools, Folder Options and in the view tab clicked the button Show hidden foldes and files. i dont see anything else, just the internal storage. i explore inside the internal storage, but it just has my pics.
