Format iPod as a hard drive.

What we're trying to do here is to format the iPod as a normal external hard drive (put another way, "we'll remove it's iPodiness").

Follow the steps below:

1. On your desktop Select -> My Computer.

2. Right click on the iPod that you see and Select Format.

3. Please make sure that the settings are at Default.
NOTE: Quick Format should not be checked.

4. Select Start.

5. "Safely remove hardware" to remove the iPod.

6. Open the iPod Updater

Click Start > All Programs > iPod > iPod Updater (folder) > iPod Updater.
The iPod Updater will appear.

7. Reconnect the iPod to your computer. Wait for it to appear in the Updater.

8. Click Restore.
