Change the drive letter of your iPod

It is possible that, although the iPod doesn't show up in My Computer, it may show in Disk Manager. If so, we can change the drive letter and that might fix your problem.

Here's how you go about doing that:

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer.
  2. Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management.
  3. On the Computer Management window, Click Disk Manager.
  4. Right click on your iPod and click on the option "Change Drive Letter and Paths..."

  5. This would take you to a different box.  Click on Change.

  6. Select the drive letter you want to assign from the drop down (the letter "i" seems to be popular ;-).

To confirm, click "OK" and click "Yes" for the following message, then start the iTunes

Did the above trick work?
