Run the iPod Updater

Let try this.  If the iPod Updater can see the iPod, then iTunes should be able to.

Go to Start > All Programs > iPod > iPod Updater (folder) > iPod Updater (most recent date)

When prompted to attach the iPod (sweet!), do so.

Be patient. It will take the Updater a while to recognize the iPod.

  • Once recognized, if you have the option to Update, then go ahead and do it.
  • Since iPod Updater sees the iPod, iTunes should now see it also.
  • Here is a good option for you: Although "Restore" will delete everything on the iPod, you may want to do this so you have a fresh copy of the iPod software.
Does your iPod appear in iTunes now?
