This article describes how to connect an Xbox 360 Headset to an Xbox 360 Controller.
MORE INFORMATION
To connect an Xbox 360 Headset to an Xbox 360 Controller, follow these steps:
1.Turn the volume control on the headset cable connector all the way to the left to turn the volume down.
2.Insert the 2.5-mm headset connector on the headset cable into the expansion port on the back of the controller.
3.Fit the headset on your head and adjust the microphone to a comfortable position.
Note: Correct placement of the headset and microphone is important. Make sure that the headset fits on your head. Do not fit the headset on the back of your head. You may rotate the microphone and earpiece to the right side or to the left side. Position the microphone about one inch (2.54 cm) from your mouth and to one side. If you position the microphone in this manner, other players will likely not hear your breathing sounds during a chat session.
4.Start a game or a chat session, and adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
Use the headset
To temporarily turn off transmission of your voice, press the mute button on the headset cable connector. To adjust the volume of the headset, rotate the volume control on the headset cable connector.
For information about how to use an Xbox 360 Headset with a specific game, see the manual for that game.
Hearing loss
Warning : If you use a headset at a high volume for an extended time, you may experience temporary or permanent hearing loss.
Note: Some unapproved third-party headsets may produce louder sounds than an approved Xbox 360 Headset.
Important : To help prevent damage to your headset, do not sit on or step on the headset, the cable, or the cable connector.
