Troubleshooting wireless controller problems in Playstation 3.
My wireless controller is not responding on Playstation 3 ?
This article tells you what to do when your wireless controller is not responding properly on Playstation 3.
The wireless controller does not function. When using the controller wirelessly, if the controller and the system are too far apart, you will not be able to operate the system effectively. When using the wireless controller, you must pair it with the system and assign it a controller number. With the system turned on (power indicator on the system front is lit solid green), connect the system and the controller using the USB cable, and then press the PS button on the controller. Check the charge level of the wireless controller battery. When the controller is used in wireless mode, it will not function if the battery does not have any charge left. Charge the battery by connecting the controller to the system with the USB cable. Wireless controllers for the PS3TM system are not equipped with a vibration function and will not vibrate when using software that support the vibration function. Reset the wireless controller by pushing the reset button on the controller rear with a sharp-tipped object such as a pen.

I talked to Sony tech support and he basically told me that the only way to have the controllers to sync up is to attached the usb cable and then press the PS button. To me, it was just a hog wash answer. I believe that he didn't know what to tell me for a solution. I told him that my ps3 wasn't operating like that when I first bought it. But to no avail, he gave me the same answer no matter what. So, having some knowledge about pc restoration, it lights a bulb in my head. So I asked him if I restore my ps3 to it's original factory setting will the games that I purchased will not be re-downloaded, and he told me I can re-download it five times. So, I decided to restore my ps3 to it's factory settings which means that I have to reformat the hard drive in my ps3. To my amazement, it worked!!! Everyting is synching up like it supposed to. So I am sharing this with you guys out there that this is the solution for your sixaxis nightmarea :-) Don't worry you can still re-download the games you purchased previously. Just go to and sign in to your PSN and go to "download list" on the right top portion of the screen once in PSN. You'll see all of your download histories in there. I hope this helps. Enjoy! :-)
