The power supply light is red. How to fix this problem related to your XBOX 360?
If you see the power supply light is red then the problem is related to the external power supply. Here's what you do to fix this problem:
- Ensure that your wall socket is working. Plug the power cord directly into the wall socket. Try not to use any extension cord etc.,
- Try plugging in the power cord into a different wall socket.
If it still doesn't work, then:
- Disconnect the power supply unit and allow it to cool off for a few hours.
- The red light may indicate overheating of the power supply unit.
- Turn on the power supply after it cools.
Note: Ensure that the power supply has sufficient ventilation during cooling. Do not try to turn on the console while the power supply is cooling.
If the light on the power supply remains red after you follow these troubleshooting steps, the power supply needs service.
