Xbox 360: How to connect your Windows Vista (Home Edition) PC to your Xbox 360?
This article will help you connect your Xbox 360 console to your PC running Windows Vista (Home Edition)
You need not have to download anything additional to run Xbox 360 for Windows Vista (Home Edition) as it comes built in.
Follow these steps to build a connection.
1. Remove the existing connection:
If you have previously connected your Xbox 360 to a Windows XP based computer, then follow the steps below, or you can skip to the Obtaining the Setup key step.

Follow these steps to build a connection.
1. Remove the existing connection:
If you have previously connected your Xbox 360 to a Windows XP based computer, then follow the steps below, or you can skip to the Obtaining the Setup key step.
a. On your XP PC:
- Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Media Center, click Media Center Extender Manager.
- Select Xbox 360, click Properties.
- Click Remove.
- Click Yes to remove the connection.
b. On your Xbox 360 Console:
- In the System area, select Computers.
- Select Windows Media Center, and then press the A button.
- Select Disconnect.
- Press the B button repeatedly until you return to the System section.
2. Obtaining a Setup Key from your Xbox 360 console:
- Go to the Media section on the Xbox dashboard.
- Select Media Center.
- Go through the on-screen instructions to get the 8 digit Media Center Setup Key.
- Note this key number.
3. Adding the Key to the Extender on your PC:
- On your Windows Vista PC, launch Windows Media Center by Selecting Start -> Windows Media Center.
- Select Tasks -> Add Extender.
- Key in the 8 digit setup key you received got from the Xbox 360.
- Finish Extender setup.
