Connecting your wireless router to a PC and modem is very simple. Just follow the steps below:
1. Before you start, ensure all your devices i.e., PC, router and modem is switched off.
- Connect one end of the ethernet cable (supplied with the router) to the rear port on the router labeled "WAN", "WLAN" or Internet.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the modem into the socket labeled "Ethernet"
- Ensure that your modem is hooked up to the internet connection.
2. Create a temporary connection from your wireless router to the PC using another Ethernet cable. Here's how you do it.
- Plug one end of the ethernet cable to the ethernet socket on the rear of your PC.
- Plug another end to one of the open network ports on your router (any port that is not labeled Internet, WAN, or WLAN). The ports might be labelled as "1 2 3 4".
3. Switch on all the devices in the following sequence:
- Turn on your modem and wait for few minutes.
- Turn on your router and after few seconds, you will see the WAN, WLAN or Internet light illuminating. This means the connection between the modem and router is successful.
- Switch on your PC, after it boots, it should automatically get connected to the router.
You are done with physical connections...!
