Connect to another PC and configure - ISP Troubleshooting guide
Setting Up Your Connection with the New Connection Wizard
Do you have another PC? if yes, try connecting your modem directly to it and configure your modem. Follow the steps below to set it up
What type of connection do you have?
Broadband connection Setup:
- From the Task bar, go to Start –> Control Panel.
- Click on Network Connections Icon
- In the Network Tasks window, click on Create a New Connection as shown below.
- The New Connection Wizard would appear.
- Click Next.
- Click on Connect to the Internet radio button and click Next.
- Select Set up My Connection Manually and Click Next.
- In the Internet Connection Window, select the second option "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a username and password."
- Click Next.
- The wizard would ask you to enter your ISP name, enter the name of your ISP and Click Next.
- Select the option given below appropriately and click Next.
- Type the User Name and Password. (This is the name and password that is provided by your ISP.
- Check the boxes appropriately.
- Click Next.
If you need a shortcut on your desktop for this particular connection, then check the option below and click Finish.
Double click on the Icon that shows the name of your ISP (The name you gave in the setup wizard).
Your modem should establish an internet connection.

Dial-Up Connection Setup:
- From the Task bar, go to Start –> Control Panel.
- Click on Network Connections Icon
- In the Network Tasks window, click on Create a New Connection as shown below.
- The New Connection Wizard would appear.
- Click Next.
- Click on Connect to the Internet radio button and click Next.
- Select Set up My Connection Manually and Click Next.
- In the Internet Connection Window, select the second option "Connect using a Dial-up modem."
- Click Next.
- The wizard would ask you to enter your ISP name, enter the name of your ISP and Click Next.
- Enter the phone number given by your ISP to dial and click Next.
- Select the option given below appropriately and click Next.
- Type the User Name and Password. (This is the name and password that is provided by your ISP).
- Check the boxes appropriately.
- Click Next.
If you need a shortcut on your desktop for this particular connection, then check the option below and click Finish.
Double click on the Icon that shows the name of your ISP (The name you gave in the setup wizard).
Your modem should establish an internet connection.
