Troubleshooting Secure Site HTTPS Browsing (Internet Explorer)
This article troubleshoots browsing problems "https://" sites on IE
There could be three possible reasons due to which you are unable to browse secure websites, it could be one of the following:
The following procedure will help you troubleshoot your problem:
If you have a 3rd party firewall or windows firewall enabled on your PC, turn them off and do the following:

- Problem with security settings on one or more programs installed on your PC.
- Incomplete installation of the browser
- Corrupted browser.
The following procedure will help you troubleshoot your problem:
If you have a 3rd party firewall or windows firewall enabled on your PC, turn them off and do the following:
- Open the IE browser and try to open secure Web site.
- If you are successful accessing it, then the issue is with the firewall settings, check the firewall manual to make necessary changes.
- From your browser Internet Explorer,
- Click on Help -> About Internet Explorer.
- In the box that opens, verify that your Cipher Strength equals 128-bit.

- If your Cipher Strength is less than 128-bit, re-install the browser.
- If the Cipher Strength is 128-bit, try next step.
- Click on Help -> About Internet Explorer.
- Check your Internet security level for your Internet Explorer browser.
- If your security level is set to high, then some Web sites will display differently, or might not display at all.
- Follow the steps below to adjust your Internet security level:
- From the menu bar of the browser, Select Tools -> Internet Options.
- Click Security tab, choose the appropriate Web content zone icon.
- Verify the options selected connected to the Web content zone box.
- Use the vertical slide control bar to select one of the following security levels:
- Medium
- Medium-low
- Low
(Note: A description for each level will be displayed beside the vertical slide as you move it up or down).
- Click Apply and OK to finalize the settings.

- From the menu bar of the browser, Select Tools -> Internet Options.
- If your security level is set to high, then some Web sites will display differently, or might not display at all.
