Wii frozen on language select screen

Here's what you have to do if the Wii freezes on the language select screen. In most cases it is due to the sensor bar.

While starting with a new game you might encounter this problem someday - the screen appears to be frozen at the language select screen.

The research team has drawn an conclusion saying that it should be a problem with the 'Sensor Bar'. So we need to follow the below mentioned steps to resolve this issue.

1. We need to make sure that sensor bar cord is plugged to the back of the console and is placed properly at the center of the TV screen.

2. Also make sure that the wii remote is synced to the console by using the power button on the wii remote to turn the console on.

3. As soon as it gets synced, put the power on the console on and check for proper response.

4. We need to ensure that wii remote is being used between 3' and 8' directly in front of the TV and there are no bright light sources affecting the wii remote's operation and the sensor bar is placed properly.

After following all these steps, if you are still experiencing problems, there could be a problem with your Sensor Bar. To check if your sensor board is working properly lets do a small test.

The Sensor Bar has five infrared lights on each side of the bar. The Wii Remote uses these lights to determine its position. If these lights are not working, then the Wii Remote cursor will not display on the screen and we won't be able to navigate the setup screens.
To see these lights, we will need a digital camera or cell phone camera with an LCD display. After making sure the Sensor Bar is plugged in and the power to the console turned on, lets direct the camera at the Sensor Bar so that it is displayed in the LCD of the camera. If the five infrared lights can be seen on both sides of the Sensor Bar, the Sensor Bar is working. The angle of the camera may need to be adjusted slightly. The lights are fairly easy to see in the LCD display.
