Which is the best option for getting Windows Vista - Buy or Upgrade?

While this depends on the current system configuration, it also depends if you are getting yourself a new PC! This article will give you information on Upgrade options you have to upgrade your OS to Vista.

There are several options for getting Vista. It totally depends upon the current system configuration and version of Windows you are running.  You can upgrade your current OS, that is, Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 to a better version of Windows Vista by purchasing and installing an upgrade copy of Windows Vista.  If you are getting a new PC, then you can directly do a clean installation of Windows Vista.

Setup Options:

Upgrade in-place:

This means you can install Windows Vista on your previous OS and retain all your applications, files, and settings as they were in your previous version of Windows.

Clean Installation:

You should use Windows Easy Transfer tool to automatically back up all your files and settings on an external hard drive or a DVD or CD. 
You can then Install Windows Vista on your PC.
After the installation, you can get back all you files and settings from the back up onto your upgraded PC.
