1. Can I install Windows Vista on my computer?
- You need to check whether your hardware is compatible to run Vista.
- Download a small program called Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor. This tool ensures there is no problem on your computer and can run Vista.
- If this tool points out any hardware or software issues, you need to fix those before installing Vista.
2. How do I prepare my PC to Install and run Vista?
- Run Anti-virus program before you install Vista on your computer. After it is done, disable it and run Vista Installation. Don't forget to enable the Anti-Virus after you installed Vista.
- Ensure you have a complete backup of all critical data and applications on an external hard drive or DVD/CD. You can reinstall them after your Windows Vista is up and running.

- Clean Install: Clean installation is recommended as it is faster and would avoid conflicts creeping up from old applications and drivers.
5. Can I revert to my old OS by uninstalling Vista?
- You cannot uninstall windows vista. All you need to do is to reinstall your previous OS.
- It is always recommended to backup your critical data and applications and then reformat the partition where Vista was installed to free up the disc space.

6. Will all my programs and applications work on Vista?
- Most of the programs which works on Windows XP should work in Windows Vista too, but some older programs might not run. Check this article for application compatibility:
- Windows Vista uses the NTFS file system. If you upgrade your computer from Windows XP which is using the FAT file system, it will be automatically upgraded to NTFS, which might affect the compatibility of the program.
