I get the error code 0xC004F061 while trying to activate Windows Vista by using WAU product key
Here's how to resolve the issue of error code 0xC004F061 which we get while trying to activate Windows Vista by using WAU product key.
The following failure occurred while trying to use the product key:
Code:0xC004F061
Sound panic!! Well, not to worry. You might get this error message sometimes when you try to activate a copy of Windows Vista by using a Windows Anytime Upgrade (WAU) product key.
This problem can occur if any of the below mentioned condition is true.
So if you find yourself in condition 1, please perform the WAU upgrade only after you logon to the Windows Vista based computer.
And if you fall under second situation, please use a Full Package Product (FPP) product key for a clean installation of Windows Vista.
This should bubble out your worries and you will be able to upgrade it fine.
