This error message occurs because you cannot use a Windows Anytime Upgrade product key to perform a clean installation of Windows Vista.
And the resolution for the Issue: -
You need to follow the following two simple steps to resolve the issue
1.Obtain the WAU product key from the Digital License package (DLP)
2.Continue with the WAU process
Points to be noted here is that if you are trying to recover from a computer crash, use the computer’s recovery solution to recover the base operating system. After this please follow the same resolution that is cited above.
