I want my old Yahoo messenger sounds back after upgrading to Vista!
Looks like you are missing your 'old' Messenger sounds:) Follow the steps in the article and you will have the familiar sounds back on your Messenger.
Once you have upgraded to the latest version of Yahoo messenger, you still might be missing your old messenger sounds.
Well it’s very simple to get it back.
1.Click http://us.i1.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/i/us/msg/8/old_sounds.zip
2.It will ask you if you want to save or open the file
3.Click on Save
4.Next it will ask you where do you want to save it. You can save it to your desktop
5.Double-click the .zip file on your desktop to “un-zip” it. A window opens listing all the classic Messenger sounds! Leave that window open.
6.Now find My Computer – it’s should be on your desktop or in your Start menu in the lower left of your screen. Double-click it.
7.You need to go to media here. Let me tell you how to get there
9.In the .zip window, select all the sound files: click the first one, then hold down the shift key and click the last one in the list. Click, hold down and drag this list into the Media window.
10.A “Confirm File Replace” window opens, asking you if you want to replace the existing files. You do, so click Yes to All.
11.Close all the windows and delete the .zip file. You will get your old sounds back

- Double-click “Messenger”.
