How can I resolve network and Internet connection problems?

Different symptoms have different ways to troubleshoot different network and Internet connections problems. This article lists problems and some of the most common ones that one can face.

Whenever you have a connection problem in Windows Vista, there is usually a common solution to it.
Follow the steps mentioned below and set right the problem.
  • Click on Start and go to Control Panel.
  • Now click on Network and Sharing center.


  • Now click on Diagnose and Repair.


    You will get a screen which will show that it is trying to identify the problem.


    If it can not find any issue, it will show you the below screen.

  • If you're trying to connect to another computer, make sure that computer is on.
  • If the problem began after you installed new software, check your connection settings to see if they have been changed.
  1. Click Start and go to Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Sharing Center.


  3. Now click on Manage network connections.


  4. Right-click the network connection there and click on Properties.
    Note: - If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
