But finally this irritation inspired me to discover some hidden and cool tricks to fasten up my Firefox. Let me just share some of them with you. And you must be wondering why the images look different!!! I have Firefox in my new Vista!
  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Now type in about:config in the address bar.
  3. Press Enter.

You can try the following tricks in firefox:

Step 1. HTTP PROXY:

  • In the filter bar, type network.http.proxy.pipelining.
  • Double click and set it to true.

Step 2. DNS:
A bug that has been located in IPv6- capable DNS servers wherein, an IPv4 address can be returned when an IPv6 was requested. Mozilla can recover the information, albeit delayed.
  • To immobilize this, type network.dns.disableIPv6 in the filter bar.
  • Double click and set this option to true.

Step 3. CONTENT NOTIFY INTERVAL:
This identifies the least time to wait between reflows!
  • Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window.
  • Select New.
  • From the pop-up menu, select Integer.

  • In the pop-up window, enter content.notify.interval.

  • Enter 750000 and click OK.

Step 4. CONTENT SWITCH THRESHOLD:
It is only when content.interrupt.parsing is set to true that the user can interact with the loading page.
Choose the frequency to control the right time.
  • Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window.
  • Select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.

  • In the new pop-up window, enter content.switch.threshold.
  • Click OK.

  • Enter 750000 and click OK.

Step 5. BROWSER CACHE MEMORY CAPACITY:
A page that is loaded needs to be cached (stored), so that it is not rerendered or redisplayed. Here is the preference that does just that!
  • Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config window.
  • Select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.

  • In the new pop-up window, enter browser.cache.memory.capacity.
  • Click OK.
