Why can't I find Add/Remove programs in Windows Vista?
Add/remove programs in Windows Vista is still there - it's only that it has undergone a name change :)
Hey! If you are using the Vista for the first time or trying to uninstall and reinstall some program in your Windows Vista, you might scratch your head searching for the 'Add/Remove programs' in your control panel.
Do not panic!!! It's there, it's just that the name has been changed. It is now known as 'Programs and Features' in lieu of Add/Remove programs.
Follow the following steps to get to Programs and Features.
Hang on! I will also show you another method to go to the Program and Features button.
These steps should help you to find Add/Remove programs in Vista. Just remember that the Add/Remove programs has not vanished - just got it's name changed to “Program and Features”.

- Posted by: jerry_5700 at 16 Sep 12:24 permalinkYou have no idea how much you helped me here. I am been looking for this Add/Remove Programs for weeks now and I just now decided to do a search in Google for "where is the add remove programs in vista" and wa-la I found ya.
Why the hell they changed the name is beyond me...
I have had so many problems with Vista, it freezes up for no reason, it goes to sleep and I cannot wake it, certain software does not work even though it is compatible, windows movie maker dies in the middle of a project and there is no way to publish the unfinished project... it goes on and on and on..
The reason I was looking for the Add Remove is to remove some of my software... Maybe this will help this piece of junk work correctly..
Thanks Again - Can you uninstall Windows Media Player 11 from Vista. I ask because I've had huge problems with trying to figure out how to uninstal WMP 11 or even just run another program like VLC.
In other words, with the step-by-step information you provided above, is WMP 11 under the Programs and Features icon and can it be uninstalled or changed?

Vista Ultimate: flushing your own money down the toilet is more satisfying.
Vista Ultimate: the ultimate in resource-wasting flaky stressfulness.
Vista Ultimate: just when you think you've mastered its bloated pointless awkwardness...
Vista Ultimate: because we know you like to get stress-related infectious and degenerative illnesses, while wasting as much time and money as possible.
Vista Ultimate: because the illuminati told us to dampen the power of you pesky sheeple!
Vista Ultimate: how could I be so stupid to fall for it yet again...
Vista Ultimate: the best reason to try Linux ever devised by humanity. - Posted by: charlotte.montemayor_5638 at 22 Aug 09:28 permalinkI can get to uninstall programs, but only a handful show up. I tried to go into my program files and uninstall and even though I "Approve" all the pop ups to delete the files it is "unsuccessful." I'm using Windows Home Premium... I've spent HOURS and HOURS on this... what the heck is going on?

Im having the same stupid problem (vista ultimate), i assume this came from an update?.
You will get the same rubbish answers all over the place!.
Even the MS idiots dont know how to fix the issue im afraid, they seem to repeat the same pointless reteric.
So im afraid the only answers are to use another program to uninstall such as C-Cleaner! etc...until MS pull there sticky big thumb/head from Bill's backside and decide to fix the issue, we are all stuck too!
Personally speeking i'm going to use my Vista install cd as target practice, or a coaster, maybe a shiny thing to put over a child's cradle, thats all it's really good for!.
