Easy way to do a system restore in Windows Vista

It is very simple to run a system restore in Windows Vista.

System restore is very simple in Windows Vista. You can use system restore from two places.

  1. Type restore in the search box or you can type rstrui.


    You can see a screen immediately where you can take the system back to the last restore point.

  2. You can either click Recommended Restore or you can choose a different restore point and click next.
    If you choose a different point, you will get a list of varied restore points.

  3. Choose any one of restore points.


  4. Confirm the selected restore point.

  5. Click on Yes and Restart your computer.

  6. If you are not able to get back to Windows, you can boot off the installation dvd, and choose the option ‘Repair your computer’.
  7. Click on Next and choose system restore from the system recovery dialogue.
  8. Click Next on the next screen and select the drive where your copy of Vista is installed.
  9. Click Finish and you are done with the system restore.
