Check for a corrupted browser file or TCP/IP

Sometimes you might face this problem if the files of your Internet Explorer gets corrupted. If you are using IE version 6 or later, then you can run a quick repair to fix those corrupted files. To check the version of your Internet Explorer, just open IE, click Help -> About Internet Explorer. If you are running an older version of IE, click here to upgrade it. To repair IE 6 or later, follow the steps below:
- Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.

- Double-click on Add/Remove Programs.
- Highlight Internet Explorer and click Change/Remove tab.
- Click Repair Internet Explorer.
- Click OK to confirm. Once this is done, just restart your computer and check.
- Click Start -> Run. Key in 'command', click OK.
- At the command prompt, type netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt and press enter key.
- Type exit and press enter key to close the command prompt.
Note: Ensure you have the copy of Windows installation CD which came along with your OS, before you start this process.
- Click Start -> Settings -> Control Panel.

- Double-click Network.
- On the Configuration tab, click Add, click Protocol, and click Add.
- In the Manufacturers box, click Microsoft, in the Network Protocols box, and then click TCP/IP.
- Click OK two times, and click Yes when you are asked to restart your PC. If you are not prompted, restart your computer manually.
