How to do the Initial configuration for Apple TV
This article explains the first steps to configure Apple TV
Now we are going to take you through the initial steps of configuring Apple TV. Apple TV helps you select and configure your wireless network connection, choose a language, and connect to iTunes on your computer.
First of all, make sure that Apple TV is already connected to your TV. If you need help in connecting Apple TV to your TV or home theater, please see How to connect cables in Apple TV. We also need the apple remote control to control Apple TV settings and navigate through the content, so keep it handy.
Step 1: - Connect to network

Connecting to your wireless Network:
In this section we will know how Apple TV will help you connect to your wireless network.
Now use your Apple remote to enter:
Update iTunes: -
To use Apple TV, you need iTunes 7.1 or later installed on your computer.
If you are using a Mac, you can also use Software Update to update to the latest version of iTunes.
If you want to use iTunes 7.1 on a Mac, you need to update your system software to Mac OS v10.3.9, or 10.4.8 or later and update to QuickTime 7.1.5.
If you are using a Windows-based computer, you can also go to iTunes Help to update to the latest version of iTunes. Open iTunes, and then choose Help.
Now go to iTunes Help and Check for Updates.
Connecting to iTunes:-
When you set up your network connection in Step 1, your TV screen displayed a five-digit passcode for iTunes.
You will now enter that in iTunes to sync content to Apple TV
To set up Apple TV with your iTunes library we need to follow the following steps:

- Your IP address, subnet mask, router and DNS address
