Xbox Error message:"PPPoE Available (direct connection) 4920".

This is a connection issue! It indicates that the Internet service provider (ISP) requires authentication to connect to the network. This problem occurs when you connect the Xbox console directly to your modem and then try to connect to Xbox Live

Try these steps to overcome the error message:

Type your PPPoE credentials in the Network Settings section of the Xbox Dashboard.
  • Press the Directional pad (D-pad) up/down > select Settings > press A Button on the Main Menu.

  • Press D-pad > select Network Settings > press A button on the Settings screen.

  • Press D-pad down > Select PPPoE settings > press A button on the Network Settings.

  • Press D-pad up or down > select Configuration > Press A button to change the PPPoE settings to ON.

  • Press D-pad down > select UserName > press A button.

  • Use On-screen keyboard to type your Username > select Done > Press A button to return to the PPPoE Settings section.

  • Press D-pad down > select Password > press A button.

  • Use the On-screen keyboard to type the Password > select Done > press A button to return to the PPPoE Settings screen.

  • Press D-pad down > select Service Name > Press A button.

  • Use On-screen keyboard to type the Service name > select Done > Press A button to return to the PPPoE Settings screen.
  Note:
  • The PPPoE Username and Password both have 63-character limit.

  • If you don’t know your PPPoE  authentication information, you can obtain the same from ISP. Some ISPs use email address as your PPPoE username.
Phew! That was easy !
