Speed Up Your Network and Internet Access in Windows XP
Fine tune your system for faster Internet and Local area network
Does your computer slow down when you browse your local area network and connect to other computers that are sharing data? Most common cause of this slowdown is a Windows Explorer that looks for scheduled tasks on remote computers which in turn slow down browsing
Although this problem is a complex one, the solution is very simple. Instead of having to wait for the remote scheduled tasks, which is useless information to anyone who is not a system administrator remotely configuring scheduled tasks, you can disable this feature.
To increasing the speed of your local area network and your Internet connection is to stop Windows Explorer from scheduling these tasks
Follow the below Step to make your browsing fast
- Go to Start > Run

- Type "regedit" in open textbox as shown in the figure below

- Registry Editor window will open. Select the folders in this window as shown in the figure. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > RemoteComputer > NameSpace and {D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}.

- Go to left side of the window right click on Scheduled Tasks and select delete as shown in the above figure.
Restart the system and find the difference.
