Error Message during HP printer Installation: '%1 Is Not a Valid Win32 Application'.

You may come across this error message while installing the driver for the printer in your computer. To avoid getting such an error, copy the contents of the software CD-ROM to the hard drive and then try installing the drivers from there.

These are steps you have to follow.

Step 1: Delete temporary files on the computer.
  1. Click Start > Run.

  2. In the Run window, type %temp%. Click OK.



  3. Temporary Folder gets opened.

  4. Select all the files by clicking Edit > Select All. Click Delete.


Note: Delete only the files in the folder but not the Folder.
Step 2: Copy the installation files to the hard drive.
  1. Right Click on Start > Explore.
  2. Find and Select the CD-ROM for HP Software in the Left displayed Screen , you get the contents in the right side of the screen.
  3. Click Edit > Select All > Edit > Copy.
    Note: Do not copy the CD-ROM to Desktop.
  4. Select the C:\  in the left side of the screen to get the contents on the  right side of the screen.
  5. Click File > New > Folder.  Name the folder as hpdisk.
  6. Double Click on the folder to open it, paste the contents of the CD-ROM. Keep the Windows Explorer open after copying the files.
Step 3: Install the software from the hard drive.
  1. Comeback to the hpdisk folder in Windows Explorer and double-click the Setup.exe file.

  2. Now the software has to be installed, follow the instructions as they appear on Screen.
