How to transfer a downloaded theme from PC to BlackBerry Pearl 8100 phone.

Do you have BlackBerry Desktop Manager installed on your PC?



After you download your favorite themes (.alx/.cod) files from the internet, here's how you transfer it your phone.

 Note: If you haven't, you need to install BlackBerry Desktop Manager on your PC before proceeding.  If you want to download the latest version, click here.
  1. Connect your BlackBerry phone to your PC.


  2. Start Desktop Manager .
  3. Once your BlackBerry sync's with your Desktop Manager, double-click on Application Loader icon.

  4. Click Next.

  5. Click Add.

  6. Select the .alx file from the downloaded theme files.  Click Open.


  7. Ensure all the corresponding item check boxes are checked (if any).  Click Next.


  8. Click Finish to install the theme on your BlackBerry.

  9. You can now disconnect your BlackBerry phone from your PC.
  10. Now to activate the installed theme on your Blackberry, scroll down to Options and click the thumb wheel.


  11. Scroll down to Theme option and click the thumb wheel.


  12. Highlight the downloaded theme and click the thumb wheel once.
