Itunes Error: iTunesSetup.exe is not a "valid Win32 application"

iTunes 7.02 not a valid Win32 application?

This articles helps resolve the error iTunesSetup.exe is not a "valid Win32 application"

  1. Remove/Delete iTunesSetup.exe.
  2. Double Click My Computer icon on your desktop.


  3. Double click on Local Disk C:

  4. If you are a
    1. Windows XP and Windows 2000: Double click on Documents and Settings.

    2. Windows Vista: Open Users. Double-click the folder that bears your username.
  5. If you see a Local Settings folder, skip to step 8. If you don't see a Local Settings folder, proceed to the next step.
  6. If you are a
    • Windows XP and Windows 2000: On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.

    • Click on the View tab and select Show hidden files and folders. Click OK.


    • Windows Vista: On the Organize menu, select Folder and Search Options. Select the "Show hidden files and folders" button.
  7. Now double click on Default User.

  8. Double-click Local Settings. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.

  9. Right-click on the Temp folder and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.


    Note: If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area (system tray) of the Windows Task bar shown below and repeat step 9.
  10. Restart your computer.
  11. Now download and install iTunes again.
