Manage Email Settings on Sony EricssonK790a
Did you know that you can read, reply and forward email messages on your phone as you would on your computer? But first you have to set the email settings. Read on....
The email address that you use on your computer can be used on your phone. To do this your phone needs the same email settings as used by your computer for email address. To use your computer email address in your phone do one of the following:
Receive Settings Automatically
Enter Settings Manually
Receive Settings AutomaticallyThe easiest way is to have the settings sent directly to the phone. Use the internet on your computer to go to www.sonysericsson.com/support
Enter Settings Manually:
- Ask your email provider for settings information.
- An email provider is the person or company that provides your email address for eg your IT Administrator at work or an internet provider. Or
- You may have a document at home from your email provider with the settings information. Or
- You may find the settings information in your computer email settings.
The information you need:
Settings Type Examples
Connection Type POP3 or IMAP4
Email Address emily,john@example.com
Incoming Server mail.example.com
Username ejohn
Password ad000zx
Outgoing Server mail.example.com
Note: Email providers can be different. Their terminology and required information may differ. It is possible that not all service providers have email access.
Help: There are also setup instructions and help information as you enter settings.
To enter email settings:
- Messaging > Email >Settings
- After settings are entered > Inbox > More > Send and Receive to access your email
To enter Advanced Email Account Settings:(Optional in most cases)
- > Messaging > Email > Settings
- Select an account to edit > More > Edit accounts > Advanced Settings
- Press button to select and enter setting. If required by your email provider for example > Check Interval
When settings are entered your phone can connect to an email server to send and receive email messages!
