iPod gets corrupted while unplugging from Windows Vista!

Here are some time tested steps to follow if your iPod gets corrupted when you try to eject it by clicking on safely remove hardware in Windows Vista.

I got myself a new Vista computer and last night and I tried to use my old iPod with it.
I transferred some new tracks without any problem but the issue started when I tried to unplug it. I did the same as I used to do in my old computers – right click on the icon and left click on 'Safely remove hardware'. I was taken back when I saw that my iPod got corrupted!!!

Did a bit of research and got some tips to work around with. These really helped!

You can follow the steps as indicated
below if you are in the same kind of soup.
  1. Select your iPod in Apple iTunes
  2. Now on the Summary tab, click on Restore
That will restore your iPod and you are back to track.

I have also found out that we should always use iTunes to eject an iPod. You can do that by going to the Controls menu and clicking on Eject iPod.
