iPod Error Message “iPod Service Error”
“iPod Service Error” message is displayed due to software conflicts, software corruption, or device-interface errors and the computer fails to cooperate with the iPod. This error message is specific only to Windows-based computers.
The “iPod Service Error” issue can be resolved by following the steps described in any of the three methods mentioned below.
Method 1:
For fixing “iPod Service Error” Message Un-install and Re-install iTunes from your computer.
Your iTunes software is uninstalled successfully.
Download iTunes (www.apple.com/itunes) and the iPod Software (www.apple.com/ipod) to reinstall iTunes.

Method 2:
"iPod Service Error” Message can also be resolved by changing the System Configuration Settings.
Follow the steps to resolve “iPod Service Error” Message:
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes one more time if the above steps do not solve your problem.

Method 1:
For fixing “iPod Service Error” Message Un-install and Re-install iTunes from your computer.
Note: All music files will be safe after uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes software.Follow the steps to Un-install iTunes software:
- Click Start.
- Click Control Panel.

- Double click Add or Remove Programs.

- Select iTunes from the list of installed software.
- Click Remove button.

- Click Yes to confirm iTunes uninstallation.

- Click Next and OK button to uninstall iTunes.
- “I Want To Restart My Computer Now” prompt appears. Select Yes.
- Click Finish button.
- After your computer restarts go to Program Files folder in "C:\" drive (or any other drive where your OS is installed).
- Right click iTunes folder and click Delete.

- Double click iPod folder.

- Right click Bin folder and click Delete.

- Right click iTunes folder and click Delete.
- Close all windows.
- Right click Recycle Bin and click “Empty Recycle Bin”.

- Restart the computer.

Your iTunes software is uninstalled successfully.
Download iTunes (www.apple.com/itunes) and the iPod Software (www.apple.com/ipod) to reinstall iTunes.
- Double click downloaded iTunes/ iPod Software files and follow on-screen instructions to complete installation of the respective software.

Method 2:
"iPod Service Error” Message can also be resolved by changing the System Configuration Settings.
Follow the steps to resolve “iPod Service Error” Message:
- Click Start.
- Click Run.

- Type “msconfig” in the Text field and click OK.

- In the System Configuration Utility window that appears, click General tab.
- Select “Selective Startup” radio button.
- Uncheck “Load Startup Items” checkbox.

- Click Startup tab.
- Select iTunesHelper checkbox.

- Click Services tab.
- Click “Hide All Microsoft Services” checkbox at the bottom of the window.
- Uncheck all checkboxes in the list excluding iPod Service.
- Click OK.

- Click Restart.

Uninstall and reinstall iTunes one more time if the above steps do not solve your problem.

Method 3:
If you failed to resolve “iPod Service Error” Error Message after following any of the methods mentioned above then please follow the steps below:
- Right click My Computer icon.
- Click Manage.

- Click “Services And Applications” in the left pane of Computer Managment window.
- Double click Services in the right pane.

- Click iPod Service in the right pane.

- In Action menu click Properties.
- Click Stop button in iPod Service Properties window.
- Click Apply and OK button to close the window.

- Click Start.
- Click Run.

- Type “C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe” /service in the Text field and click OK.
Note: Include quotation marks as mentioned above.

- Restart the computer.
