Transferring Files using a USB cable on Sony Ericsson K790a

Did you know that you can connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable. Read on to see how this can be done.



To use your phone for File Transfer or Phone Mode connect your phone to the computer using the USB cable.

File Transfer:
  1. Drag and drop files between the phone and the computer in Microsoft Windows Explorer:
  2. Use Sony Disc2Phone (music transfer) or Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition (picture transfer /storage) These  applications are found on the CD that come with the phone and can be used only with file transfer mode.

Note: Only use the USB cable that comes with the phone, and connect the USB cable directly to the computer. Do not remove the USB cable from the phone or the computer during file transfer as this may corrupt the phone’s memory or the memory card.

To use file transfer mode:

  1. Connect the USB cable to the phone and the computer.
  2. Phone: Select File Transfer or > Settings > the Connectivity tab > USB > USB Connection > File Transfer The phone shuts down.
  3.  Wait until your phone memory of memory card if inserted appears as external disks in Windows Explorer.
               
You can use:

  •  Windows Explorer to drag and drop files between phone and the computer.
  •  Sony Disc2Phone to transfer music to your phone or memory card.
  •  Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition, to transfer and organize your pictures on your computer.

To disconnect the USB cable safely:

  1. When using the file transfer mode, right click the removable disc icon on the Windows Explore and select Eject.
  2. Remove the USB cable from your phone
