Verify Verizon Email Settings in Outlook 2000

Check your email settings in Outlook if your Outlook 2000 is not working properly.

                                                                                          


Sometimes your Verizon email does not work properly with Outlook 98/2000. You then need to verify the settings. You may even need to configure it again.

  1. Open Outlook and from the Tools menu, select Accounts.

  2. Select the Mail tab, then highlight the Verizon Online email account and click on Properties.


  3. Select the General tab.
    Verify your full name.
    Verify your email address.

  4. Select the Servers tab:
    Verify the Incoming mail (POP3) server name: incoming.verizon.net
    Verify the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server name: outgoing.verizon.net
    Verify the Account name: (your Verizon Online user name)
    Select My server requires authentication.

  5. Select Settings

  6. Verify that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected and keep click OK.
