Though the LG Chocolate is beautifully designed and offers a respectable mix of features and performance, it doesn't quite live up to the hype. |
Though the LG Chocolate is beautifully designed and offers a respectable mix of features and performance, it doesn't quite live up to the hype. |
The luscious, unique Chocolate by LG (for geeks, the LG VX8500) takes pride of place as Verizon's premier music phone, with good sound quality and MP3 support in the V CAST Music player (finally!). The quirky, touch-sensitive interface takes some getting used to, but it is worth it. |

Cingular 8525 |
For the ultimate road warrior, the 3G-enabled Cingular 8525 provides the speed, the power, and the productivity tools to get your work done on the go. |
The Cingular 8525 is the first UMTS/HSDPA smart phone to be offered in the United States. It has integrated Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, and supports Cingular's new location-based services. The Windows Mobile device also has push e-mail capabilities, a 2-megapixel camera, a spacious QWERTY keyboard, and good call quality. |
Cingular power users, your mobile office has arrived. The first smart device to use Cingular's new HSDPA high-speed network, the new Cingular 8525 handheld is an unparalleled global roaming phone, and equally valuable standing alone or acting as a modem for your laptop. |
If checking e-mail or surfing the Web is sluggish on your aging cell phone, the Cingular 8525--the first PDA phone that's compatible with Cingular's fledgling high-speed HSDPA network--might be the answer to your prayers. For the most part, the 8525 delivers the broadband data speeds you'd expect. But poor battery life is an Achilles' heel for this otherwise capable handheld. |

Samsung BlackJack |

The Samsung BlackJack heralds another 3G-enabled smart phone to Cingular's lineup. While it supports the carrier's video and music service, some design and performance issues trip up this otherwise sexy device. |
The 3G-enabled Samsung BlackJack is sleek, has a gorgeous screen, and a full QWERTY keyboard. Highlights include Bluetooth 2.0, push e-mail capabilities, and good call quality. This Windows Mobile smart phone also comes with support for Cingular Video and Cingular Music services. |
Cingular's high-speed network goes truly portable with the new Samsung BlackJack, an excellent little handheld for folks looking for a Blackberry-style device with more speed and multimedia features. |
Thin is clearly in at Samsung. The company's new BlackJack i607 from Cingular is the spitting image of Verizon's Motorola Q, also black, and one of the thinnest phones you can buy. Though the two PDA phones look alike, the BlackJack features a lighter, narrower design and more-robust multimedia capabilities (such as streaming music and video). |

With a 5-megapixel camera, advanced multimedia capabilities, and GPS, there's no doubt that the Nokia N95 is one of the most feature-packed smart phones to date, but poor battery life and sluggish performance makes it hard to justify the high price tag. |

The N95 is so loaded with high-end features that it sometimes seems as if it dropped out of a time warp from the future. Perhaps its astronomically high $749 price won't be worth much in future dollars, but right now, that is a lot to pay for a cell phone. Still, for power users, it is worth the extra expense. subscription. Oh, and it also makes phone calls. |
This is a feature packed phone with something for everybody in it. As seen in other reviews as well as mine, the menus are slow, big camera shutter lag, GPS spotty and no querty makes texting cumbersome. Phone pricey but price coming down quickly. The stereo speakers rival any pocket radio on the market. Despite the limitations, this is a great phone and worth the money. |
