Comcast Transition assistance for former Bright House Network customers?
Learn how to minimize service disruption and ensure a smooth transition to Comcast Internet.
Please follow the steps outlined for this task:
-
Please restart your computer to accept new settings following the planned service interruption.
-
After connecting to the Internet go to www.comcast.net and fill in your user name and password in the fields provided.
-
Your initial user name and password were assigned to you in a hard copied letter that you received via US email.
-
If you wish to have Comcast High Speed Internet start page, remember your user name and password, put a check in the automatically sign in box.
-
To change the primary user name and email address, sign in to comcast.net with your existing primary user name and password.
-
Select my account.
-
Select the change my user name/email address option under EMAIL SETTINGS.
-
Use the form to change any of your user name/email addresses.
-
Select the user name you wish to change, and then enter the name you wish to use going forward. Select UPDATE.
-
If the user name is changed all the emails in your Comcast High Speed inetrnet mailbox will automatically be moved to the mailbox for the new account you specify on the change user name form. Email sent to your current email address after the change will be rejected.
-
If you use an email client application such as Outlook Express, you'll need to update your configuration so that it downloads emails from the Comcast Mailbox associated with your new user name.
-
Comcast email settings will be automatically carried over from your current user name to your user name, including email forwarding and other features like spam filters.
