Treo 600 Bluetooth Handheld won’t Connect to a Bluetooth Enabled PC.
This problem occurs when you are trying to configure a Bluetooth connection.
Listed here are some important steps that you need to follow before using built-in Bluetooth connection that's available with the Palm devices.
- Is the PC Bluetooth and Internet – enabled: First, make sure that you have a Bluetooth-enabled PC with active connection to the Internet. Now test whether Internet connection is working or not on your PC itself.
- Run the Configurator: Palm device come with a built-in configurator for setting up a bluetooth connection. Launch the Bluetooth application, which will help you throughout the process.
- Check distance: Set your device within about 10 meters (30 feet) of the Bluetooth-enabled PC. If the device doesn’t not detect the PC ,move the device more closer. Interferinf factors(like walls, piping and other wireless devices) also reduce the range.
- Turn on PC: Turn on the PC and turn on its Bluetooth in “discoverable” mode. For more details, read the documentation that came with your desktop computer or Bluetooth card of the computer.
- PassKey: Enter correct passkey on both the desktop PC and the Palm device when configuring a connection using the Bluetooth wizard on the Palm device.
- Username and Password: When configuring your device to make a Bluetooth connection to the desktop PC, it will ask you to enter the Username and Password. Remember this Username and Password because you have to use this to log into your desktop PC. If your desktop PC doesn’t require a username and password, leave these fields blank.
- PC Configuration: Once connection is established to your desktop PC, you have to configure how the desktop PC interacts with your desktop PC.
- Are you using the camera: If your Palm device includes a built-in camera, be aware that Bluetooth functions are shut down in order to maximize camera performance when you are in the Camera application. Switch to another application to restore Bluetooth functions.
- Getting an Authentication Error: when writing a capital letter O or writing a zero (0), due to the proximity of the entry areas in the writing areas, it is possible to enter one or the another accidentally. This can cause Authentication Errors on the device. Re-enter the username and password and verify that each character is correct.
