iTunes for Windows Doesn’t Recognize iPhone

Looking for possibilities and a work around in case your iTunes for windows doesn't recognize iPhone?

You bought a new iPhone and you are happy about it. But the problem starts when iPhone doesn't appear in the Source list in iTunes after you connect it to your Windows PC. In that case, follow the steps mentioned below to resolve the issue.

iPhone display
Once you connect your iPhone to your computer, the iPhone should display an image or a message on the display. If you do not see any image, that means your iPhone is not turned on. This means that the iPhone does not have sufficient battery charge to work and it needs to be charged for several minutes before it can be recognized in iTunes. Windows PC system requirements

Check USB connection
Make sure that you have USB 2.0 as iPhone requires USB 2.0 to function properly. Try connecting iPhone to a different USB port, rather a port that is built-in to the computer instead of an external USB hub.

Restart your PC
Just Restart your PC. In some cases, your computer's USB ports may become temporarily disabled or you may experience other software related issues. Restarting your PC just resolve your issue sometimes.

Reinstall iTunes
Check that you are using iTunes 7.3 or later. Apple recommends using the latest version of iTunes. Go to help menu and click on About iTunes to know what version of iTunes you are using. You can go to http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ to download the latest version of iTunes.
