Setting up your Personal E-mail Account on Motorola Razr V3M Verizon Phone
You can send and receive e-mail messages with any Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) or Post Office Protocol - Version 3 (POP3) e-mail account.
Gather the following information from your POP3/IMAP provider:
- Account type (POP or IMAP).
- Incoming Mail server.
- Outgoing Mail server.
- Username, password, and domain name.
- Any special security requirements.
- Press Start.
- Scroll to and select Messaging.
- Select New E-mail Account....
- Select Your e-mail source: as "Other".
- Press Next.
- Select Your e-mail provider: as "Other (POP/IMAP)".
- Press Next.
- Enter Your name:.
- Scroll down and enter you E-mail address:.
- Press Next. By leaving the Automatic Setup box checked, the phone will attempt to obtain the email settings from the Internet.
- If the Automatic Setup was unsuccessful (or the previous box was unchecked), the settings must be entered manually. Press Next.
- Enter the account User name: (typically everything before the @ symbol), Password: and Domain: (often not required) and Press Next . Tip: Check the Save password box to eliminate the need to enter your password every time the account is accessed.
- Select the Server type: as "POP3" or "IMAP".
- Scroll down to change the Account name: if desired.
- Scroll down to select the Network: to be used to access the mail server (normally the Internet).
- Press Next.
- Enter the POP/IMAP server address in the Incoming Server:.
- Scroll down to check Require SSL connection, if necessary.
- Scroll down to enter the SMTP address in the Outgoing Server:.
- Scroll down to select Outgoing server requires authentication, if necessary
- Press Next.
- Select the message download options: Set how often to download messages and Set how much of the messages to download (i.e. Header only, Entire Message, etc.).
- Press Next.
- Set how often to automatically check for messages.
- Press Next.
- Press Finish.
