Updating the Motorola Razr V3M Verizon Phone Software

You can update the software on your phone by downloading software updates over the air.





Note:
Sprint Power Vision must be working and enabled in order to do an over-the-air software update.

You need to check the current software version on your phone
To check the version of your phone's software go to the Main Menu, Select Settings, Select Phone Info and Select Version

To enable Power Vision:
  • Press Menu.
  • Scroll to and Select Settings.
  • Scroll to and Select Power Vision.
  • Scroll to and Select Power Vision.
  • Scroll to and Select Enabled.
  • Press the Red button once to return to the home screen.
Note: While the phone is updating you will not be able to receive calls or make calls other than 911 emergency. It is strongly recommended that you do not power your phone off during a software update.
  • Go to the Main Menu.
  • Select Settings, Phone Info, and then Update Phone SW.
  • Your phone checks for software updates.
  • If a software update is available press Yes (left soft key) to continue the update process.
  • From this point, the software update may take up to five minutes to complete.
  • Press Next (left soft key) on the following screen to continue the update.
  • If you want to view more information about the software update, before the update starts, select More Details.
  • Press OK (left soft key) to return to the previous screen.
  • Select Update Phone SW to complete the software update.
  • After the software update is complete, your phone powers off and then powers back on.
  • If software updates are available, Sprint may send a request to your phone asking you to update your phone's software.
  • This request will appear as a message on your phone's display.
  • If you see this message, press Yes (left soft key) and follow the prompts on your phone's display to complete the software upgrade.
