Motorola Razr V3M Verizon: Checking for a Software Update Myself!
Most of the Motorola Handsets support Software Updates, BUT it is dependent on your operator whether you can receive it.
Motorola offers 2 different ways to update your phone's software:
- MSU (Motorola Software Update)
- If you have a USB cable for your phone, then you can download a software update to your handset over your own computer.
FOTA (Firmware Over-the-Air)
Allows you to download a software update directly to your handset over your carriers network.
Access the following menu option to launch your own software update:
Menu > Settings > Phone Status > Software Update.
IMPORTANT!! You will NOT be able to use ANY of the functionality of the handset including emergency calls during the software update.
