Error Message on Treo 600: “The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again”
You receive these types of error message when your device is not communicating with your desktop computer at all. Connections like USB, Serial, infrared (IR), network or modem need to be checked. Read this article to resolve this issue.
When you receive this error message, a Hotsync windows does not open on your computer. This communication problem could be caused by a number of factors.

- HotSync Manager On : This software needs to be run before synchronization.
- Perform a soft reset : This is a great trick for solving a number of problems.
- Disconnect your device from the HotSync cable or cradle and connect it again. Don’t press the HotSync button until the device is fully connected.
- Failure to communicate : confirm that your desktop computer and handheld device are communicating properly.
