iPhone Auto-Lock Feature

Auto-lock is a built in feature on your iPhone. Here's how you set up this feature.

If your iPhone is idle for more than a minute, it gets automatically locked and turns off the display. However you will continue to receive calls.

The default delay setting for auto-locking is 1 minute on iPhone.  To change or to completely turn off the feature:

  • Tap the Settings icon in the home screen.

  • Tap on General.

  • On the General settings screen, tap on Auto-Lock, select the best time option as desired.

  • If you select Never option, you need to manually lock your iPhone by pressing the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your iPhone.

Note: Even if you have the auto-lock feature turned on, you can still go ahead and press Sleep/Wake button to lock your iPhone.

If you use exchange mail, never option disappear. For solving this issue, at exchange parameter settings you should clear all sub ticks under 'password required' option. More discussions on apple support pages. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9662868&#9662868
