Treo 600: Unable to Synchronize through USB to Serial Adapter.

You encounter this problem if you cannot perform a HotSync operation after plugging the USB into serial port adapter. The serial port setting needs to be adjusted.

To adjust the serial port settings, follow the below steps:
  1. Check the USB to serial port adapter connection.

  2. Execute HotSync Manager.

  3. Open HotSync Manager and click Enable/ Disable.

  4. Open the Instant Palm Desktop > Select HotSync Manger.

  5. Select Setup and click Disable/ Enable.

  6. Under Local Setup > Select PalmConnect USB from port list.

  7. Click the HotSync controls tab > Select Enable.

  8. Perform HotSync operation.
Note : After removing the USB to serial port adapter, if an error message appears then reboot
          your Macintosh and click OK in the Message box.

To prevent this error from appearing during the reboot. Do these necessary steps.

  1. Launch HotSync Software Manager.

  2. Choose Setup > Disable HotSync Manager.

  3. Disconnect the USB to serial port cable.

  4. In HotSyncManger avoid making changes in the HoySync Software Setup dialog box while the adapter is unplugged.

  5. If you have problem in perfoming a HotSync operation after unplugging and replugging your USB adapter, plug the adapter in and restart your computer.

  6. Now launch HotSync Manger and re-start the correct USB port from the local Setup section of the HotSynch Software Setup dialog box.
