Different Versions of Palm Desktop, Palm OS and HotSync Manager.

If the Palm OS version on your device and the Palm Desktop version on your Windows or Mac match, then you are plain lucky!!
Palm OS and Palm Desktop are developed independent of each other. They do not normally have the same version identity. For example, you can have a Treo 600 Smartphone with Palm OS 5.2.1 that synchronizes with Palm Desktop 4.1.


In the same way, HotSync Manager is a part of Palm Desktop. It does not always have the same version identity. Your Mac OS X installation of Palm Desktop 4.2.1 may include HotSync Manager 3.2. They need not have the same version.
