Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) Freezes on your Motorola Razr V3M Verizon

What are conditions to check if MPT freezes!



While configuring Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) to synchronize the phonebook / calendar to the phone over USB MPT may sometimes freeze. This seems to occur when selecting the Filter or Synchronization folder tabs under the Synchronziation icon/Modify the synchronization settings.

You may check some of these conditions:

From the Microsoft Task Manager check to see if the process rapimge.exe is running rapimgr.exe is a process associated with the ActiveSync software from Microsoft. ActiveSync is a software used to synchronize data on your PC with a mobile system such as a pocket PC or a mobile phone.
  • Remove Microsoft Active SyncRemove the Outlook Cached Exchange file "..\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost".
  • Re-create your e-mail account in Outlook by right clicking on the Microsoft Office Outlook icon Select Tools/E-mail Acounts.../View or change existing e-mail accounts/ and remove the default mail account.
  • Re-create your Outlook profile by right clicking on the Microsoft Office Outlook icon and selecting properties/Show profiles/Remove the profile you are using and then add a new profile.
