Resetting iPhone Settings

Give a reset to your existing settings, that will clear out conflicts if any..

Note: Resetting will only give a reset to all the existing settings on your iPhone, it does not delete any media or data.

To reset your iPhone settings,

  • From the home screen, Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Still having problems? Try deleting all the existing settings.

Note: The step given below will delete all the data on your iPhone.  It will also give a reset to your settings.
  • From the home screen, Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings.

I reset my iPhone using this "Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Contents and Settings" and now all i get is the Black screen with the Apple in the middle of the screen. After a little while about 3-4 mins, it starts to think for about a minute then the iPhone restarts but it keeps doing the same thing over and over and over again. What can i do, is my iPhone broken? Please Help!

I've found the solution to this problem elsewhere. See below.

Here is what you can do:

          OPTION 1:
          1. Download 2.2 firmware for 3g HERE
          2. Put device in DFU Mode by following THIS
          3. Connect device in Itunes in DFU mode.
          4. Press Shift in keyboard while clicking the restore button in itunes. A windows will appear and select the 2.2 firmware you have downloaded. It will restore your device.
          5. After the restore you can jailbreak it. Just serach it in the forums. In case thats a carrier locked 3g just install Yellowsnow form Cydia after you jailbreak your device.

          OPTION 2:
          1. Dowload 2.2.1 CFW
If that is a AT&T or other carrier locked 3g download THIS
If that is globe locked unit download THIS

          2. Put device in DFU mode.
          3. Shift+Restore in Itunes and select the 2.2.1 CFW you downloaded.
          4. Install Yellowsnow form Cydia

i just held the home button and for ten seconds, it reset and went back to the same screen as b4, so I'm thinking wtf still. but then all of a sudden it went its normal page and started to work fine, the reason is because i had it hooked up via usb ofcourse to my itunes, no special way, itunes accessed the internet. as soon as it was done it the iphone worked fine.
