Nokia 6255: Using a Pair Device with Bluetooth Wireless Technology.

Information on setting up paired device using Bluetooth is given in this article.

You can set up a permanent association (pairing) between your phone and another devices with Bluetooth connectivity. Some of the devices require pairing before data transfer will take place.

To setup a pair device, you and the owner of the other device should agree on the same passcode. The passcode can be given with the maximum limit of 1-16 numeric characters. When you are connecting the pair device for the first time, you and the owner of the device should enter the same passcode. Once the devices are paired then you don't need to use the passcode again.

The paired devices are placed in your paired device list and you can view this list even when the Bluetooth is not active or when the devices in the list are not available for connection.

Follow these instructions to view the paired devices list as mentioned below:
  • At the Start screen:

    • Goto Menu; Connectivity

    • Select Bluetooth > Paired devices
  • Scroll to desired device. Select Options from the following:

    • Assign short name - Enter your nickname, from the selected device, which is visible to you only.

    • Request conn. authorization - Select No if you want to connect your phone automatically from the selected device. Or Yes if you want the phone to ask for your permission.

    • Delete pairing - Delete the pairing to the selected device.

    • Pair new device - Search for active devices with Bluetooth connectivity within range, scroll to the desired device, and select "Pair" to establish pairing with that device.
