Internet Connection Settings for Cingular 8525 to Bypass Proxy Server

Lets see how to configure Internet connection settings on your phone.

To configure the Cingular Internet connection settings:

1.
Tap Start > Settings.  
2. Select Connections tab.  Tap on Connections icon.  
3. Select Advanced tab.  
4. Tap on Select Networks.  
5. Choose My ISP from the drop down menu and tap Edit.  
6. Select Cingular GPRS and tap Edit.  
7. Verify the settings as shown and tap Next:
  • Name of the connection: Cingular GPRS
  • Select a modem: Cellular Line (GPRS)
  
8. On the Access point name screen, key in wap.cingular and tap Next.  
9. Verify the settings as shown and tap Advanced:
  • Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
  • Password: CINGULAR1
  • Domain: Leave Blank
  
10. On the next screen, verify the settings and tap OK.
  • Use server assigned IP address: Select this option
  • Use specific IP address: Don't select this option
  • Use software compression: Uncheck
  • Use IP header compression: Check
  
11. Tap Finish.  
12. Tap OK.  

13. Now try to access Internet.
