Nokia N80: My phone is asking for a PIN/PIN2/PUK/PUK2 Code. What should I do?
This article explains what to do when the N80 asks for a PIN/PIN2/PUK2 Code.
The N80 is installed with more than one code to guard it against unwarranted use.
The PIN Personal Identification Number)and PUK(Personal Unblocking Key) codes guard the SIM card, a small card inside your phone that sets up the network connection.
Generally, your network service provider is the best authority to help you with the PIN and PUK codes.
- The PIN Code can be set up, turned on and off by following the instructions in your user guide
- The PIN2 Code is a PIN Code which acts like a second line of defense for certain features of your phone.
- It works in the same way as the PIN Code. Additional information can be obtained from the user guide.
- If multiple incorrect entries of the PIN Code are made, your phone may ask for a PUK Code.
- The PUK Code is an 8-digit code. It is used to un-block a barred PIN Code and is provided by your network provider.
- If multiple incorrect entries of the PIN2 Code are made, your phone may ask for a PUK2 Code.
